Community Development supports marginalised and excluded people to gain
in self-confidence, join with others and
take action to change their
situation and tackle the problems that
face their community.
The Partnerships Community Development Team supports
local people, community groups and communities to address
issues affecting their communities and the people in
them by:
Information and advice to community groups to help them grow and develop.
Support to community groups to develop a specific activity
or project.
Support to communities to take part in statutory
programmes and polices that can positively influence
their communities.
Training for community groups, including seminars, workshops and courses.
Regular emails and mail-outs to groups to keep them informed of developments that could help them in their work.
Helping groups to network and work together on common issues.
Funding for projects and activities in the local community.
