Education
As part of our preventative education work we:
provide support to local groups to develop initiatives that tackle under-achievement and educational disadvantage;
work closely with local schools to
develop policy responses to specific issues such as
early school leaving and promoting access to third level
education.
We also support adults to take part in education, for example with direct financial support to pursue basic,
second chance and further education - see Grants for more information on this.
Childcare is also central to our education strategy, due to the role of early childhood education in raising the potential of the child and enabling parents to access education and training. Our community childcare service Fun Dayz provides a warm and caring environment for children to learn and play in a lovely sunny building in the Quinsboro Road.
